Biography

Professor Ballam’s research on employment-at-will and affirmative action has been published in the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law, American Business Law Journal and Hofstra Labor Law Journal. Her work has also been cited by the Supreme Courts of Washington and Tennessee and by the U.S. District Court in Wisconsin.

She received the 2000 Senior Faculty Award of Excellence from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, the 2000 Best Article Award from the American Business Law Journal and the American Business Law Journal’s Ralph C. Hoeber Award for an outstanding article in 1994. She has served as editor-in-chief of the American Business Law Journal.

Ballam teaches honors and graduate-level courses. She received the 1997 Fisher College Pace Setters Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award, the 1998 Pace Setters Service Award and the Sphinx and Mortar Board Senior Thank You Award in 1999 and 2000.

Before joining Fisher College, Ballam practiced law for more than five years.
