Biography

Marc Smith began teaching full-time at the Fisher College of Business in 1999. He teaches introductory accounting I and II to undergraduate business students and foundations in accounting to undergraduate students who are working on a minor in business. Marc has also taught courses in intermediate accounting, advanced accounting, audit, and accounting information systems. Previously, Marc did consulting work for PricewaterhouseCoopers on how to efficiently train interns. In 2005, Marc established and continues to manage Fisher’s first tutor room which is located in the basement of Fisher Hall. Since 2010, Marc has been responsible for teaching the Pre-MAcc, an accelerated intermediate accounting course offered to incoming MAcc students who do not have extensive accounting undergraduate studies. In 2012, Marc was awarded a Fisher College teaching award for superior teaching in the undergraduate program.
