Biography

Professor Mittendorf served as an associate professor of accounting at the Yale School of Management, where he taught courses on Managerial Accounting, Managerial Incentives and Compensation, and Nonprofit Financial Statements. His research interests involve how incentives influence and are influenced by accounting practices. His current research concerns motivational considerations in commonly confronted accounting and operational choices. Recent articles have appeared in The Accounting Review, the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Management Science, Marketing Science and RAND Journal of Economics. He also serves on the editorial boards of The Accounting Review and the Journal of Management Accounting Research.
