Biography
Rick Johnston has been appointed assistant professor of accounting. Professor Johnston’s research interests involve capital markets and the use of information. Prior to academia, Rick worked in public accounting and in the brokerage industry. His areas of expertise are financial accounting and sell-side analysts.
Before joining Fisher College, Johnston was a visiting assistant professor at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. In 2002, he was an accounting lecturer at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Johnston also was a seminar leader for the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountant’s School of Accounting in Toronto, Canada.
Johnston received a PhD at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA at The Ivey School at The University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Toronto.
