Biography

Professor Tomassini’s research has been widely published in leading scholarly journals, including the Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. In addition, Tomassini led the initial development of Fisher College's web site and has been a pioneer in the use of Web technology to support the teaching of accounting courses.

Tomassini previously served as department chair for accounting & MIS (1993-2000) and academic director of the Master of Accounting program (2000-2002). Before joining the Fisher College of Business, he was head of the department of accountancy and the Ernst & Young Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois and the Peat Marwick Mitchell Centennial Professor in Accounting at the University of Texas.
