Business Honors Learning Community
Introduction
Business Honors Learning Community
In keeping with our commitment to excellence, Fisher College of Business with support from a focus company is proud to announce the Business Honors Learning Community (BHLC). This learning community was a new program for Autumn quarter 2006 and is designed to give honors students the opportunity to participate in experiential learning and community service with peers, faculty, staff, and company representatives.
Fisher Honors Learning Community will be a great way for you to meet other honors students who share similar interests in business. You will live in the same wing in Taylor Tower (an honors residence hall on north campus) and take three classes together with other BHLC students. In addition, you will have significant interaction with faculty, staff, and focus company representatives. Activities that focus on career development, community service, and building leadership skills are integral parts of the program. The academic year will culminate in a Case Study Competition at which company representatives will act as coaches and judges.
The BHLC is limited to twenty-five students for 2008-09. Selection criteria include leadership and community service experience as well as responses to two essay questions. We are looking for students who can commit to the learning objectives of the program and be an active participant in all planned activities for the program.
Special thanks to Whirlpool Corporation, the current sponsor company for the BHLC.
