Life at Fisher

The life of a Fisher MBA student includes on-campus activities such as classes, studying, interviews for career positions, and student organizational meetings. Off-campus opportunities include all the resources of The Ohio State University and the cultural, entertainment and life opportunities in Columbus, Ohio.

The Fisher student community is a vital component of your educational experience. Diversity of experiences, culture and viewpoints insures lively discussion in and out of the classroom.

You will form lifelong bonds with many of your classmates. Take a few moments to meet a few of our students.

Student Groups

Fisher students' interests are as diverse as the student body. Organizations have formed around particular disciplines such as Marketing or Consulting, and around particular shared experiences or cultures such as the Black MBA Association and the Graduate Women in Business. There are also cross disciplinary organizations such as FisherServes which is dedicated to community service and nurturing corporate citizens. You will be encouraged during your first quarter to explore and join the ones that interest you. Please do. Student organizations give you a great opportunity to practice leadership, explore the extent of your growing team oriented skills, and have fun.

The Fisher Graduate Student Association (FGSA) is an umbrella association for all of Fisher’s specific student led organizations. They are also responsible for facilitating social interaction among the entire Fisher community including students, families, faculty and administration. You are automatically a member of the FSGA.

There are also opportunities for you to become involved in representing Fisher to The Ohio State University as a whole. In December, the Fisher College of Business elects their delegates to the Council of Graduate Students from the first-year MBA class. These delegates serve a term of one year, and work with graduate students from across campus on issues that directly affect all graduate students. The Council of Graduate Students is recognized by the University as the graduate student government. All students, not just delegates, are invited to participate.
