The success of our graduate programs reside in their characteristics- intimate, interactive, hands-on, and flexible- qualities that mirror many successful businesses. Because we purposely keep our program sizes small, you always have access to faculty, staff, other students, alumni, and executives. Our strong teamwork focus encourages you to build relationships in and out of class including networking and mentoring opportunities.
You’ll also have the flexibility to study what intrigues you on a schedule that fits your life. MLHR courses are offered primarily in the evening because many of our students work during the day. Other than summer quarter, applications are accepted for each term although, because of course sequencing and frequency, we encourage you to begin the program in autumn quarter.
Building personal relationships happens almost immediately. One week prior to the start of classes each quarter, incoming students gather for an orientation session. This mandatory program will introduce you to your classmates, the faculty and staff and give you an opportunity to become familiar with the Fisher College complex.
All undergraduate majors are welcome to apply to the MLHR program. Applicants should have completed at least three courses from the social sciences (examples include, but are not limited to, psychology, economics, sociology, communications, etc.) at time of application to be considered for admission.
To successfully complete an MLHR at the Fisher College of Business, students choose to follow one of two “plans”. Under Plan A students complete 76 hours of coursework and a thesis. Plan B requires 76 hours of coursework, including 4 hours of Internship or tutorial and a comprehensive master’s examination. The majority of the students in the MLHR program choose this option.
