Columbus, Ohio is a dynamic center of business, education, research, culture and political activity. It is home to information and technology providers such as CompuServe, On-Line Catalog of the Library of Congress (OCLC), Sterling Software, Battelle Memorial Institute, Chemical Abstracts, and the Ohio Supercomputer Center. Columbus has also been recognized as one of the top ten cities for entrepreneurial activity. Companies such as The Limited, Wendy's, and Worthington Industries started as small businesses here.

And the Columbus metropolitan area is the corporate and divisional headquarters for some of the country's largest companies. But students will not spend all of their time working; Columbus is also a great place to relax and have fun.

Columbus is home to theater companies, a professional symphony, ballet and opera companies, and one of the most active visual and literary arts communities in the country. The nationally recognized Wexner Center for the Arts is located on Ohio State's campus. Ohio State is only two miles from downtown Columbus, with its $94 million convention center, a major art museum, the Center for Science and Industry, and City Center shopping. Close to downtown are the Short North, Brewery District, and German Village, filled with restaurants, nightspots, galleries, and shops.

For concert lovers, Columbus is the place to be. Polaris Amphitheater, Vets Memorial, the Ohio Theater, the Palace Theater, Buckeye Lake, and the Ohio Stadium host some of the biggest names in show business.

For sports fans, we have the Ohio State Buckeyes, Clippers baseball, the Crew major league soccer team, and a major league hockey team, the Blue Jackets.

Columbus has a world renowned zoo; a beautiful metro park system and bike trails; reservoirs, lakes and rivers for sailing, boating, and water skiing; nationally known golf courses and the Muirfield Memorial PGA tournament; and affordable housing.

All in all, Columbus is a great place to live and learn.
