A complete application includes
  • The completed MLHR application on-line form
  • Application processing fee - payable via credit card upon online application submission
  • At least three (3) references that can speak to your potential to be academically successful in the program. You will have the opportunity to ask your references to submit either electronic or paper letters of reference on your behalf when you submit your online application.
  • A detailed resume -- the Fisher MLHR program admissions committee views work experience as desirable but not necessary . Undergraduate academic record, reference letters, evidence of leadership experience and official test scores (GRE - and TOEFL, if applicable) play a more significant role in a complete application evaluation. You will have the opportunity to upload your resume as an attachment during the online application submission process.
  • Required essay responses. You will submit your essays electronically as part of your online application submission.
  • Two (2) official, unopened, original and certified copies of transcripts from every college or university attended. IMPORTANT: Send your official transcripts to MLHR Admissions Office; Fisher College of Business; 100 Gerlach Hall; 2108 Neil Ave; Columbus OH 43210-1144 . Certified English translations must be provided if the originals are not in English. (You are not required to submit official transcripts for any courses taken at Ohio State University.)
    • All undergraduate majors are welcome to apply to the MLHR program; however, applicants should have completed at least three courses from the social sciences (examples include, but are not limited to, psychology, economics, sociology, communications, etc.) at time of application to be considered for admission.
    • The Ohio State University Graduate School requires cumulative 3.0 undergraduate GPA for admission to any graduate program at OSU. Applicants with cumulative undergraduate GPAs less than 3.0 are subject to review and approval by the Graduate School. The MLHR program recommends cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 at time of application to be minimally competitive.
  • Standardized Test Scores
    • The GRE is required of all applicants to the Fisher MLHR program. The program will accept the GMAT in lieu of the GRE if the applicant has already taken the GMAT at time of application. (Click here for more information on the GMAT.) Your official GRE scores, sent directly from ETS, are required for your application to be considered complete and ready for admission committee review. (The GRE must be no older than five years at time of application.)
      • The Ohio State GRE institution code is 1592 and department code is 4202.
    • International applicants must take the TOEFL. Click here for Ohio State University's requirements related to the TOEFL.

Letter from the Director of the Graduate Programs Office

I am so pleased that you are considering applying to the Fisher College of Business. We seek outstanding candidates who want an intellectually stimulating environment, a close-knit collaborative community, and the chance to take an active role in enhancing the Fisher experience for those to come.

The decision to attend a graduate business program is important. The next step of choosing the best business school for you is crucial. Before making any decisions, I would encourage you to fully investigate any and all schools that offer programs you find compelling.

Fisher’s programs are deliberately small in order to maximize student, peer, faculty and staff interaction. We believe this is a great way to learn and prepare for your future, but it does put and keep the spotlight directly on you. If you enjoy standing apart and having your opinions heard and if being in control of your future excites you, follow the application link or contact us at 614-292-8511.

I hope you find this site to be a wonderful source of information about the Fisher College experience. Having said that, I do know that to really ‘get’ what Fisher College is all about, you need to experience it in person. I strongly encourage you to visit us to truly understand the full picture of what we have to offer and to meet some of the extraordinary students, faculty and staff that make us one of the top-ranked universities in the country.

I look forward to getting to know you.

David Smith
Director, Graduate Programs Office
