CPA Exam information
Coupled with an undergraduate accounting degree or an appropriate number of accounting credits, the Fisher College of Business MAcc degree provides you sufficient business and accounting credits, in addition to having passed the Uniform CPA Examination, to earn the CPA designation in those states that have enacted the "150 hour rule."
If you plan to take the exam in Ohio, please refer to the Accountancy Board of Ohio's web site for specific rules. Graduates of the Fisher MAcc program are eligible to sit for the exam in the state of Ohio. If you wish to sit for the CPA exam in another state, check with that state board's of accountancy for the exam regulations specific to that state.
Although the MAcc program does not provide technical preparation for the Uniform CPA examination, we have contracted with MDS CPA Review, a leading Columbus-based CPA exam review provider, to teach its courses on The Ohio State University's Columbus campus. The MDS CPA exam review courses are usually taught in Pfahl Hall, one of the buildings that comprise the Fisher College of Business complex.
Please note the MDS and/or any other CPA review course is not mandatory for MAcc students; therefore, all costs associated with the MDS CPA review program are incurred by the student as an expense separate from the MAcc tuition and fees. (NOTE: Many employers of MAcc students, especially those in public accounting, will help subsidize the cost of a CPA review course.)
