Orientation - Executive MBA

New cohort orientation. Ohio Stadium Tour

The EMBA program begins with a week long pre-program orientation session that begins Sunday December 7, 2008 in the Blackwell Inn. Prepare to be challenged as you and your teammates are immersed in a fast-paced business simulation exercise that will stimulate debate and help you quickly bond with your teammates as you compete against other teams.

In addition to the challenging simulation exercise, the EMBA staff will provide you with important logistical and administrative information such as an introduction to CARMEN, the program course delivery website, e-mail and student ID processing. In addition there will be campus and Ohio stadium tours, an opening night dinner, and an opportunity to get to know the members of the other cohort. Most of your meals for orientation will be held in the Blackwell. We’ve been told that we feed you well!

The last 3 days of orientation are dedicated to in-depth reviews of Economics, Accounting and Statistics which will prepare you for the rigors of the program. Students should plan to have their laptops at orientation. Students who are not experienced in Excel should practice to become familiar with the functionality before arriving for orientation.

Course materials for the 1st module will be distributed during orientation. You do not have to stand in line at the bookstore or search out the correct texts. Everything is provided for you, and your coursework begins immediately afterwards. You will receive a detailed schedule in the weeks before orientation and after we have received your $1500 deposit.
