Honors Students

Admission to Major
Honors students are directly enrolled in the BSBA major program. You will be asked to select an area of specialization (major) at your academic session. Students may also declare undecided. No additional program application is necessary.

Honors Requirements
Students who are granted honors status in Fisher College of Business have the opportunity to enrich their program of study through honors or upper division General Education Curriculum course work, to apply for special honors programs in Fisher College of Business, to participate in programming that is offered through the Honors & Scholars Center, and to apply for honors housing. In addition, honors status students receive priority scheduling.

Honors Status Eligibility (Effective for students earning honors status beginning AU08)
  1. Direct enroll as freshmen:
    a) 30 ACT or 1340 SAT AND
    b)
    top 10% of class.
  2. In order to maintain honors status, students must meet the following criteria:
    a) Earn a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
    b) Complete a minimum of one honors or upper division enrichment course in each quarter of enrollment in the freshmen and sophomore years.
Upper division enrichment courses are defined as 500 and 600 level General Education courses. 500, 600, and 700 level business courses are not considered upper division for the purposes of maintaining honors status, since these upper division courses are taken by all business students (honors and non-honors). Substituting an upper division course for a General Education course requirement must be approved by an honors advisor.
  3. Students who do not maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA and/or who do not complete at least one honors (or upper division enrichment course) in each quarter of enrollment in the freshmen and sophomore years will be removed from honors status. Additionally, students must be participating in one of four honors programs (Accounting Honors Program, Business Admin Honors Cohort Program, Business Admin Honors Contract Program, and Degree with Distinction).
