Completion of the BSBA in four years assumes a number of conditions including the following:
- Students will be fully prepared through their secondary studies to begin college level work (including mathematics at the college algebra level) and will not require remedial coursework or additional coursework to meet admission conditions.
- Students will satisfactorily complete an average of 15-16 credit hours each quarter in the freshman and sophomore years and 17-18 credit hours each quarter in the junior and senior years. Conversely, students who find it necessary to withdraw from courses, repeat courses due to insufficient academic performance, or who carry academic loads lighter than those indicated above will likely find that time to degree is extended.
- Students are focused on the Fisher BSBA as their intended degree from the beginning of the freshman year, are following the recommended curriculum design, and are admitted to the business administration major and specialization no later than the beginning of their junior year. Students who change their major and/or specialization do so with the understanding that time to degree may be extended.
- Students transferring credits to Fisher from another institution will be on track to complete the degree in four years insofar as their transferable courses match Ohio State courses and BSBA requirements are fulfilled according to the degree planning model. Students who transfer courses that don’t match OSU courses and/or don’t fit with the BSBA curricular design will likely find that time to degree is extended.
- The four year academic planning models are designed to meet minimum requirements for the degree. Students choosing to very legitimately enhance their degree programs through a double major, minor, study abroad, internship or co-op, and/or other supplemental programs may extend time to degree.
- Students regularly consult with an academic counselor to ensure that they have an appropriate personal academic plan, are taking appropriate schedules, are monitoring their academic progress, and are seeking assistance should scheduling issues or problems arise.
