Applying for Admission
The Ohio State University and the Fisher College of Business require separate application processes and have different acceptance criteria. Admission to Business Specialization
To apply for admission to the business specialization, please fill out the online form in the above resources box or contact your regional campus below. Note: The application form found in the above resources box can be filled out online. Please complete the form and then print.

Application criteria
New students pursuing business studies are enrolled in the pre-BSBA program in the Fisher College of Business. Acceptance to the specialization and degree of candidacy is contingent upon approval of an application submitted when any one of the four following sets of criteria is met. Cumulative point-hour ratios indicated below are calculated on the basis of all non- technical course work attempted at all post-secondary institutions attended. Transfer students are required to submit transcripts from other institutions attended with the application.
Incoming freshmen, accepted to The Ohio State University, Columbus Campus with an ACT composite score >= 25 (or SAT combined
score >= 1150) or who graduated in the upper 20% of their high school graduating class are accepted into the pre-BSBA program.
New transfer students must have a grade point average >= 3.00 on all previous academic work to be accepted into the pre-BSBA program.
Direct Enrollment
- minimum ACT composite score of 30 or SAT combined score of 1340; and
- graduation in the upper 10 percent of high school class; or
- admission to the university with Honors status
Admission Criteria Category I
- minimum MERGED 3.40 cumulative point-hour ratio; and
- satisfactory completion of Math 131 or 151 or equivalent and prerequisites with grades of C- or better.
Admission Criteria Category II
- completion of 45 credit hours of course work;
- minimum MERGED 3.00 cumulative point-hour ratio;
- completion of English 110 with a grade of C- or better; and
- completion of Math 131 and 132 or 152 or equivalent and prerequisites with grades of C- or better
Admission Criteria Category III*
Requirements for application with a merged grade point average of less than 3.0.
- completion of Math 131 and 132, 151 and 152 or equivalents and prerequisites with grades of C- or better
- completion of English 110 or equivalent, Economics 200 and 201, Accounting & MIS 211 and 212, and Computer and Information Science 200 or equivalent with grades of C- or better
*WHILE STUDENTS MEETING THE 3.00 GPA OR HIGHER ADMISSION CRITERIA WILL BE ADMITTED, BASED ON CURRENT ENROLLMENTS IT IS NOT ANTICIPATED THAT STUDENTS WILL BE ADMITTED FOR SPRING QUARTER 2007 AND FORWARD WITH LESS THAN A 3.00 GPA. PLEASE CONSULT WITH AN ACADEMIC COUNSELOR IN THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS, COLUMBUS CAMPUS, FOR THE MOST CURRENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.
Quarters of Admission and Application Deadlines
Students are admitted in the Autumn and Spring Quarters only. Application deadlines are as follows:
AUTUMN QUARTER APPLICATION DEADLINE: JUNE 1
SPRING QUARTER APPLICATION DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1
Applications reviewed for admission to degree candidacy are concurrently reviewed competitively for admission to the area of specialization.
Students who are admitted to degree candidacy who do not meet competitive admission standards for their chosen area of specialization will be accommodated in another area of specialization within the college.
