Student Organizations
There are many student organizations with which you will have the opportunity to become involved at Ohio State. Within these organizations you will have opportunities for leadership, involvement, and fun outside the classroom. Fisher College Student Organizations include those that focus on particular areas of business (e.g., The MBA Finance Association or Marketing Association); those that represent the interests of various groups (e.g., The MBA Association of Women in Business); as well as organizations that cross all functional areas of business (e.g., FisherServes). Students are encouraged to actively participate in the organization(s) of their choice. A current listing of graduate student organizations is below.
The MBA Association (MBAA) is the umbrella organization for all of the MBA-specific organizations. The MBAA promotes social interaction among all MBA students, their families, faculty, and administrators. All students are automatically members of the MBAA.
In December, the Fisher College
of Business elects their delegates to the Council of Graduate
Students from the first-year MBA class. These delegates serve a term
of one year, and work with graduate students from across campus on
issues that directly affect all graduate students. The Council of
Graduate Students is recognized by the University as the graduate
student government. All students, not just delegates, are invited to
participate.
In addition, the Fisher College of Business, along with the College of Social Work, form the Administrative Sciences area of the University. One representative from the Administrative Sciences area is elected to the Council on Research and Graduate Studies and another to the University Senate.
