Meeting times are subject to last minute changes. In general the classes will run for three weeks from Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m.
Who Should Attend
Enrollment is open to those interested in becoming nursing home administrators and any person wanting professional training in nursing home administration.
Cost
February 5-23, 2007
The Core registration fee for February 2007 is $1,600. This fee includes all instructional materials and refreshment breaks. It does not include lodging and meals. Please include a $100 deposit with your registration form. The balance must be paid three weeks before the course begins.

The Core of Knowledge course is designed specifically for the Administrator-In-Training (A.I.T.) participant. This course meets the special academic requirement set by the Ohio Board of Examiners for qualifying to take the state licensure board examination. Ohio participants should call the Board of Examiners at (614) 466-5114 to arrange their A.I.T. internship.
The content of this course is designed to provide information and promote understanding that may lead to more effective performance in the administration of long-term patient care. The subject areas listed below have been recommended by the National Advisory Council of Nursing Home Administrators and endorsed by the Ohio Board of Examiners and the Indiana State Board. These topics are included in the Core of Knowledge course:
- Applicable standard of environment, health and safety
- Local health and safety regulations
- General administration
- Psychology of patient care
- Principles of medical care
- Personal and social care
- Therapeutic and supportive care services in long-term care
- Departmental organization and management
- Community interrelationships
- Terminology
Cancellations
No Refunds Will Be Given For The Deposit. One transfer of the deposit fee will be allowed to a future Core. If a participant has paid the entire course fee, a refund (minus the deposit) will be given for written cancellations received at least one week before the course begins or you will be permitted a one time transfer to another Core if notification is made a week in before the class begins. After that time, no refunds will be given.Certificate of Completion
All those satisfactorily completing the course will receive a certificate from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.Location
All of the sessions will be held in the Pfahl Hall Executive Education Center.
