Personal and Group Drives

ITS offers network sharing and personal space on the Fisher network for students, faculty and student organizations.

Personal Network Drive

Every Fisher faculty, staff, and student has access to a personal network drive. This personal space is accessible from any computer lab PC, classroom podium PC, office PC, or personal laptop connected to the Fisher VPN network. Files are stored on redundant file servers and backed-up nightly.

When you log in to a computer lab PC, classroom podium PC, or office PC that is joined to the Active Directory domain, your personal network drive will be automatically connected and assigned to the U: drive.

Group Network Drive

Every Fisher service and academic department and center has a group network drive. This group space is accessible from any classroom podium PC or office PC, or personal laptop connected to the Fisher network. Files are stored on redundant file servers and backed-up nightly.

Each faculty or staff member has access to their respective department or center group network drive. Individual access to group network drive resources is controlled by IT Services. Permission to access a group network drive should be directed to the ITS Helpdesk.

When you log in to a classroom podium PC or office PC that is joined to the Active Directory domain, your personal group drive will be automatically connected and typically assigned to the V: drive.
