OSU:Pro

OSU:pro is a system for collecting, tracking and reporting on faculty research, teaching and service activities. It is a web-based application designed to provide faculty and staff with a single access point for storing, managing and retrieving curriculum vitae and core promotion & tenure (P&T) dossier data.

By design, OSU:pro helps to organize scholarly activity, streamline the building of dossiers, and end duplicate efforts in reporting to help save time and money across the academic enterprise.

  • This tool also communicates your professional accomplishments to visitors searching for local expertise, thereby expanding opportunities for the community to interact and engage with OSU.
  • OSU:pro puts knowledge management into practice by reshaping the tools we use to document and share our knowledge and skills here at The Ohio State University.
  • OSU:pro serves same function as Digital Measures but on a university-level versus college level. Planning is underway for all Digital Measures data and users to migrate to OSU:pro.

Who Uses OSU:pro

Faculty and staff are the primary users of the system. This system can be accessed from any computer with a browser and Internet connection. It automatically generates a profile for all university faculty and staff, as well as any student with a paid appointment.

Anyone within the university can log in and update his or her profile, which is pre-populated with data derived from other university-wide systems.

The system is used by faculty to:

  • Represent their teaching, research, and service accomplishments
  • Populate departmental faculty web pages
  • Serve as a source of OSU’s faculty expertise worldwide
  • Permit accomplishments to be “tagged” for the easy creation of reports about strategic initiatives
