BuckID
Getting your BuckID
The BuckID office is located at room 3040 in the new Ohio Union building, 1739 North High Street. Our requirements for primary and secondary ID documents match those of the State of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. First check with your department HR contact to make sure that you are entered into the university's HR system and that you have an employee ID number. Once that is in place, bring a photo ID (driver's license, state issued ID card, or passport) to the BuckID office. There is no charge for your first BuckID.
Using your BuckID
BuckID has many purposes. Primarily, your BuckID is your official university ID. You will need this for changing passwords, entrance into restricted areas such as the employee lounge in Fisher Hall and checking out library books. Your BuckID is also a debit account that is accepted as a form of payment at many locations on and off campus. Further information can be found at the BuckID website.
Accounts
Getting your OSU Account
All staff of The Ohio State University are given an OSU Internet Username as well as an osu.edu email account. If you do not have either of these accounts, you may activate them at OIT’s account management site.
Using your OSU Account
All staff at The Ohio State University are assigned a unique username. The username is your last name and a number (e.g., smith.99). This will give you access to Library Services, public computing sites, Carmen classes, registrar information and many other things. Your FCOB username is based on your OSU username with the dot “ . ” replaced with an underscore “ _ ” . OSU requires that passwords be changed at least every 90 days. More information can be found at http://my.osu.edu.
Getting your Fisher Account
Your department HR contact has likely had you fill out a Network Access Form for the Fisher College of Business when you were hired. You can also obtain forms at our helpdesk in 320 Mason Hall or complete the online account request form. Once your OSU Internet ID has been generated and we have received your Network Access Form, we will create your account and deliver it to your department HR contact.
Using your Fisher Account
FCOB user accounts are in the form of “ lastname_# ”. Your FCOB user account is used to access various services including FCOB email and personal web hosting services. OSU requires that passwords be changed at least every 90 days. More information can be found at http://my.osu.edu.

Computer
Where do I get my computer?
As a new faculty/staff you may already have a computer assigned to you. Generally when a faculty/staff member leaves the department asks ITS to erase the software and documents on the computer and have fresh software installed for the new employee to use.
New faculty members and some new staff members that are not filling existing positions may need to order a new computer. The Ohio State University has contracts in place to allow your department to purchase powerful computers at greatly reduced prices. You should contact the ITS helpdesk at 614-292-8976 for guidance on new computer equipment as well as assistance with quotes.
