Personal Mobile Device RecommendationsAll students at Fisher College of Business have access to labs in Mason or Gerlach halls during the course of their studies. The labs contain the software you need for taking classes here at Fisher, however many students prefer to purchase mobile devices for convenience. To meet the minimum requirements of commonly used software and to use the Internet effectively, your mobile devices should meet the following recommended specifications. Tablets and Mobile DevicesMost modern tablet computers (Android tablets and iPads) do offer support for connecting to OSUWireless. Many e-Reader tablets do NOT support OSUWireless due to their lack of support for enterprise-level networks. These include but are not limited to: Nook Simple Touch, Nook Color, Amazon Kindle, Kindle Touch, and Kindle Keyboard (however, the Kindle Fire is supported on OSUWireless). iPad
Android
Windows 7
Macintosh computer
A wireless network card (most often built-in on laptops) supporting 802.11g standards is needed for wireless connectivity (802.11n is recommended). If you have not purchased your mobile device yet, you might want to check with WiredOut, Ohio State's campus technology store. They carry discounted Apple, Dell, HP and Lenovo products as well as a number of discounted software packages. |
