Personal Laptops - Laptop Registration
Personal Laptop Online Self-Registration Form
All college-affiliates with a valid Fisher username and password can register their personal laptop with the online self-registration form.
Personal laptop registration requires the MAC address of both your fixed and wireless network adapters, if both will be registered.
Finding Your MAC Addresses in Windows Vista (PDF Tutorial)
- Click the Start button.
- Click in the Start Search box.
- Type cmd in the Start Search box.
- Click the cmd application icon in the Programs search results at the top of the Start menu.
- The Command Prompt window opens. Type ipconfig /all and press the Enter key.

- Properly configured network adapters will be listed in the output. Scroll the window to find your Wireless LAN and Ethernet network adapters.
- The MAC address, or Physical Address, will be in the form of
00-40-9C-A8-FF-46.
- Write down the Physical Address for the Ethernet (fixed) network adapter and Wireless LAN adapter.
Finding Your MAC Addresses in Windows XP
- Click the Start button.
- Click the Run... menu item.
- Type cmd and click the Run button.
- The Command Prompt will open. Type ipconfig /all and press the Enter key.

- Properly installed and configured network adapters will be listed in the output; you may need to scroll up to see them all.
- The MAC address, or Physical address, will be in the form of
00-40-9C-A8-FF-46.
- Write down the Physical address for the fixed (Ethernet) and wireless network adapters.
Finding Your MAC Addresses in Mac OS X
- Click the Apple Menu.
- Click the System Preferences... menu item
- Under the drop-down box labeled Show:, select Built-in Ethernet.
- Click the Ethernet tab.

- The MAC address, or Ethernet ID, will be in the form of
00:40:9C:A8:FF:46.
- The MAC address, or Ethernet ID, will be in the form of
- Write down the Ethernet ID for the fixed (Ethernet) network adapter.
- Under the drop-down box labeled Show:, select AirPort.
- Click the AirPort tab.

- The MAC address, or AirPort ID, will be in the form of
00:40:9C:A8:FF:46.

- Write down the AirPort ID for the wireless (AirPort) network adapter.
