E-mail - Forwarding

Important note regarding e-mail forwarding: Be careful not to forward two e-mail accounts to each other. This will cause a mail loop , rendering mail sent to either account undeliverable.

Q: How do I forward my OSU e-mail address ( lastname.#@osu.edu ) to my FCOB e-mail account ( lastname_#@fisher.osu.edu )?

A: To change your OSU lastname.#@osu.edu delivery options, including forwarding to another e-mail account, visit https://acctmgt.service.ohio-state.edu/Email.html.

Q: How do I forward my FCOB e-mail account ( lastname_#@fisher.osu.edu ) to another account (for example my Yahoo! or Gmail account)?

A: We've implemented an automated mechanism for enabling forwarding of your Fisher e-mail account. You can set the forward through the Fisher CMS:

  1. Login using your Fisher username ( lastname_# ) and password.
  2. Click on "Email Forwarding" in the top menu.
  3. In the text field titled "Email Forward Target", enter the e-mail address to which you'd like your mail forwarded.
  4. Confirm the email address by filling in the "Confirm the Email Target" field.
  5. Press the "Submit" button (please allow up to 10 minutes for the change to take effect).

If a message appears on the page that says "Email forward successfully changed!", then your email forwarding has successfully been put in place. Otherwise, an error probably occured. Most error messages will have some instructions on how best to proceed to resolve the issue. If you cannot resolve the issue, please contact the FCOB Helpdesk at helpdesk@fisher.osu.edu for assistance.

Q: How do I change my settings to forward my FCOB email to a different email address?

A: Exactly the same as setting the email forwarding for the first time (above). The only difference is that an existing forward will appear in the "Existing Email Forward" box to inform you of your current settings.

Q: How do I discontinue forwarding my FCOB email?

A: To cease forwarding your FCOB email,

  1. Login in to the Fisher CMS using your Fisher ID ( lastname_# ) and password.
  2. Click on "Email Forwarding" in the top menu.
  3. Click the "Disable" button in the "Existing Email Forward" box.

If a message appears on the page that says "Email forward successfully disabled!", then your email forwarding has successfully been turned off. Otherwise, an error probably occured. Most error messages will have some instructions on how best to proceed to resolve the issue. Q: Does the FCOB provide e-mail forwarding for my FCOB e-mail account ( lastname_#@fisher.osu.edu ) after I graduate or leave the college?

A: No. Once you depart from the Fisher College of Business, your e-mail account is permanently deleted 1 quarter past graduation/departure.

Q: Does OSU provide e-mail forwarding for my OSU e-mail account ( lastname.#@osu.edu ) after I graduate or leave the university?

A: Yes. Free lifetime e-mail forwarding for your lastname.#@osu.edu e-mail account is available to OSU graduates and retirees.
