Community Diversity Advisory Board

Educational and Professional Diversity

In an attempt to meet the needs of the diverse constituencies of the Fisher College of Business, we have formed the Fisher College of Business Community Diversity Advisory Board (CDAB) to provide an external perspective on the college's diversity initiatives, most specifically for our students.

Purpose of the CDAB:

Based on discussions with the college of Business Committee for Educational and Professional Diversity the following goals were identified for the CDAB:

  1. To provide support for the college's internal programs.
Examples of forms of support include financial support, mentoring for students and the identification of mentors, advice to the members of the college implementing diversity initiatives, speaking in classes about diverse work places and diverse markets, participating in faculty research and providing internships for diverse student populations.

  2. To offer an external constituency perspective on the college's diversity initiatives.
The CDAB can bring in the community perspective on diversity initiatives and communicate the community's expectations about the outcome of the college's diversity initiatives and affirmative action programs.

  3. To create an on-going liaison between the college and its diverse external constituencies.
The CDAB will have the option to meet jointly with the Committee for Educational and Professionial Diversity when appropriate.

Composition of the CDAB:

CDAB members will have demonstrated a broad understanding of diversity objectives and a previous and ongoing commitment to those objectives in their particular areas/arenas. The composition of the CDAB will reflect the diverse groups relevant to the college's goal and constituencies. No minimal composition goals are mandated, but CDAB will be reviewed on a continuing basis for adequate and diverse representation.
