Internship Success Stories

Toyota AirFlite

Doug Kondrath

Briefly describe your major projects.
As an intern for Toyota's AirFlite, I reported to both the Controller and the Accounting Manager. Over the summer, I completed quarter and month end reports and tax returns, and documented the processes involved with these tasks in order to streamline these processes in the future. I also developed security badge procedures and created a badge authorization form for AirFlite Security. I also worked with a consultant on a "forensic accounting" project to verify the validity of all transactions that took place in FY05 and FY06 to date.

What advice do you have for internship seekers?
Don't give up! And above all, be creative in differentiating yourself. Show that you are more passionate about the company, more driven, more organized, more personable, and more skilled than any other internship candidate. Send thank you cards after interviews, and send out as many resumes with cover letters as you can afford printing. Statistically, someone will like you if you send enough of them
