what did you do?
I joined Express just before they were sold to the private equity firm, Golden Gate Capital for $602 million. I was on the Business Operations Team that had the responsibility and projects to make sure the sale could be finalized in July. Many of my projects and responsibilities of the sale continued even after July as many new contracts had to be established now under Express!
what did you learn?
The most important think I learned from my internship was the fast pace of the fashion industry. The industry was always what I wanted to learn about and Express gave me the opportunity to not only learn how their business was run but also the industry as a whole. It is an exciting business to be apart of and each day was different and a great experience!
advice for others
The best advice I could give is to use all the resources that Fisher and Career Management makes available to you. Post your resume, attend the career fairs and network with companies every chance you get. There are many opportunities given to students so take advantage of them and get started early!
