Internship Success Stories

Cleveland Indians

Ryan Lantz

Why did you choose to intern with this company?
The main reason I decided to intern with the Cleveland Indians is because of the people who are affiliated with the organization. Last Summer, I had the opportunity to work at Jacobs Field as a Premium Seating Attendant and ended up having the time of my life. The people were great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and I have a lot of great memories that are still with me today. Everyone that I work with in the Front Office is very professional and at the same time they go out of their way to make you feel like a part of the team.

What were your responsibilities?
Assisting in coordination of the Ballpark Birthday Program and Marriage Proposals Involvement in the planning and execution of in-park special events (Opening Day, Fan Appreciation Day, Kids Day, 100th Anniversary Celebration Weekend, etc.) Broadcast operations assistance in Control Room, where necessary. Daily department activities as assigned. Help satisfy department autograph requests as needed. Write PA reads, scoreboards for variety of sources.

What was the most important thing you learned?
The most important lessons that I have learned from this internship is to always be prepared, and always expect the unexpected.
