Consulting is a great way to begin your career after graduation as it builds on the knowledge and skills you developed in your undergraduate education while challenging and developing you in new areas.

WetFeet CRS: Great resources and articles providing job search advice and information for researching employers. Fisher undergrads can download the "insider guides" by using "fisherbsba" as the user name and "fisher" as the password.

Vault On-Line Career Library Another great resource to use for company research and overall job search advice. Click on "Get Your Password Now" on the main Vault page and your password will be emailed to you within minutes.

Yet many students do not really know about consulting:

  • Who are the major consulting companies?
  • What is the work environment?
  • What do consultants really do?

Additionally, most students who do try to obtain a consulting position are unprepared for the rigorous interviewing methods the top consulting firms use to select the best and the brightest graduates.

That is why The Fisher College of Business Office of Career Management has developed the Fisher Emerging Consultants Program, a unique and innovative program to aid you as a top student in the Fisher College of Business attain knowledge of the consulting industry and what it takes to secure a career track position in the field.

Applications will be available December 15,2008 for the Spring 2009 class.

Coaching

While the application process is selective, we invite and encourage you to apply to become a member of the program. Once selected, you will receive individual coaching through a special class in Spring Quarter to help prepare you secure a career in the highly competitive field of consulting.

Selection Process

(tentative Dates)

Phase 1: Complete the application including answering the essay questions by 5 PM on January 30, 2009 and turn it in to Room 150 Gerlach.

Phase 2: All applicants will be notified the week of February 2nd if they have been selected to continue in the process. If you are selected, you will be asked to schedule an interview and will receive additional information and materials to prepare for the interview. Phase 2 interviews will occur in the Office of Career Management the week of February 9th.
