Fisher hosts annual Big Ten MBA case competition

Published: 2013-04-16

In partnership with the National Center for the Middle Market at Fisher, the Big Ten+ Case Competition brought together MBA students from prominent business schools April 11-13 to help solve complex, live business challenges for a middle market company.

The case about Columbus-based Bravo Brio Restaurant Group, Inc. was developed by Fisher Clinical Associate Professor Jay Dial and second year MBA candidate Akshay Deshpande. The students were challenged to develop a growth strategy for the casual dining restaurant group.  A middle-market company, the group has more than 100 restaurants across the country and $400 million in annual sales.

Students from the nine participating universities were given a tour of a company restaurant and dined and networked with executives prior to the start of the competition.

University of Wisconsin finished in first place, followed by University of Illinois and Michigan State University.
