KeyBank renews grant for Fisher diversity programs

Published: 2013-04-11

The KeyBank Foundation has approved a grant award to Fisher for continuation of the Minority MBA Case Competition and the Leadership and Creativity Undergraduate Minority Student Symposium.

The $540,000 grant will enable the two programs to continue through 2016.

“Key has enjoyed its partnership with Fisher College of Business and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Student Services,” Karen A. White, vice president of Community Relations, wrote in a letter announcing the renewal of the grants. “We look forward to the continued partnership.”

The KeyBank Minority MBA Case Competition was created in partnership with Fisher’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion Student Services in 2005. The annual event draws teams from top business schools such as University of Chicago, Indiana University, University of Texas, Syracuse University and State University of New York at Buffalo.

Created in 2007, KeyBank and Fisher established the undergraduate symposium to offer undergraduate students from around the country a unique educational experience that builds upon the traditional business management education course work.

“Over the last several years, these have become important flagship events for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Student Services and attract business schools from across the country,” said David Harrison, director of the office. “We are pleased to work with KeyBank, a company that continually demonstrates its commitment to education and diversity programs through its support of many activities in the community, as well as at Fisher.”
