Undergraduate program rises in Businessweek rankings

Fisher College of Business made the largest advancement of any school in the Businessweek 2013 Best Undergraduate Business Schools report, ranking 34th in the nation and showing strong scores in a number of key areas, including career outcomes and academic quality.

Recruiters, in particular, gave Fisher high marks, ranking the college 13th among all schools and 8th among public universities.

Businessweek excerpt:

“The university’s on-campus recruiting program attracts 500 companies to campus throughout the academic year and two job fairs specifically for Fisher students attract an additional 150 each, according to Jeff Rice, executive director of the Office of Career Management at Fisher … Fisher’s National Center for the Middle Market and General Electric Co.’s GE Capital unit teamed up to offer the second-annual middle market career fair. The fair, targeted at students looking for jobs and internships at a middle market firm, attracted companies like Quikrete Co. and Stanley Electric U.S. Co.”

Fisher’s academic quality score was elevated by curriculum changes designed to improve the student experience in a number of areas. Overall, more than 120 schools were ranked. View the full report.
