Wexner shares insights on real estate developmentPublished: 2012-10-26 ![]() Alumnus Leslie H. Wexner, founder and CEO of Limited Brands, was the keynote speaker at the Career Foundation Seminar in Real Estate held on Oct. 26 for students interested in careers in the field. During his keynote address, Wexner shared with students his strategy behind the development of the Easton retail-lifestyle center and the master planning of New Albany, the residential community outside of Columbus. Organized by graduate student members of the Fisher Real Estate Society, the Career Foundation Seminar in Real Estate is presented through a collaboration of the Office of Career Management and the Center for Real Estate Education and Research. Wexner, who was the lead developer and investor in the Columbus area’s premier residential and retail-lifestyle developments, shared what sparked his initial interest in real estate and revealed his passion for architecture. Wexner answered student questions during the event. Also participating in the event was Mark Wagenbrenner, president of Wagenbrenner Development. Founded in 1978 by Tom and Mike Wagenbrenner, the family is most noted as the builder of The Wagenbrenner Company that today sells and develops real estate properties throughout Central Ohio. A panel discussion on careers in real estate featured: Craig Kegg, vice president of Grandbridge RE Capital; Jamie Bersani, executive vice president of real estate for Limited Brands; and Bonnie Boeshart Roberts of Excel, Real Estate Capital Markets. The Career Foundation Seminar in Real Estate is one in a series of interactive, career-focused programs hosted each year by the Office of Career Management. The series is designed to immerse students in a variety of careers reflective of the graduate business programs and curriculum at Fisher College of Business. |
