iPad Productivity

When: November 1, 2012 2:00pm–3:30pm
Location: Rm 405, Mason Hall

This session introduces techniques and apps for productivity on the iPad. We will cover basic productivity apps including:

  • Note taking with Evernote, PenUltimate, and Notability
  • Dropbox, a cloud storage application
  • Document authoring and editing with CloudOn
  • To-do list productivity options including Reminders and Things
  • Institutional security and sensitive data policies

There are no prerequisites for this session; it is a demo based presentation and is not hands-on. However, participants who have iPads are welcome to bring them to follow along.

Teaching and Learning with the iPad

When: November 8, 2012 2:00pm–3:30pm
Location: Rm 405, Mason Hall

This session focuses on the latest research about how iPads can be used in the classroom. We will cover use cases from institutions across the country, academic content and iTunes U, digital textbook resources from iBook and Inkling, projecting with VGA adapters and document cameras, polling students and colleagues with the free app Socrative, and presenting from iPad with keynote or Prezi. There are no prerequisites for this session; it is a demo based presentation and is not hands-on. However, participants who have iPads are welcome to bring them to follow along.
