PGP Data Security Notification

Published: 2010-05-24

For the past three years, Ohio State’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) has offered a software product called PGP Whole Disk Encryption. This software provides data encryption services to comply with university security policies and to help protect institutional data.

The PGP software subscription is licensed and managed by OIT. The current license is set to expire on June 24, 2010. OIT is currently renegotiating the contract with the vendor to continue these services throughout the university. If the contract service is not renewed by tomorrow, May 25, all PGP protected computers will be prompted with a one-time pop-up warning indicating the license will expire in 30 days.

Please disregard this notification as OIT works through contract negotiations.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the PGP renewal process, please contact the ITS Helpdesk. We will provide an additional communication once the contract has been officially renewed.
