4/14 - Microsoft Installation Notification
Service Pack 1 update for Windows 7 was released on March 15, 2011. ITS has completed testing of this service pack and plans to release this package as part of our routine Microsoft updates on Thursday, April 14, 2011. It is important to know that service packs are larger than typical updates and will require additional time to install. Most computers will automatically install these updates when shutting down the workstation and finish the process upon restarting.
Please note that we are not planning to automatically release Internet Explorer 9 or Firefox 4 until we have completed testing and incompatibilities with university systems (i.e. Carmen, eReports) have been resolved.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the ITS Helpdesk.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Windows 7 is the latest version of the Microsoft Windows operating system. It has new and improved features including faster, more reliable performance. If you haven’t yet upgraded your office computer, this is a good time to make the switch. Please contact the ITS Helpdesk to schedule this upgrade.
