After Nathan Hurd lost Will, his two-month-old son to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), he never imagined that utilizing his Fisher education would help his family cope with their monumental grief.
However, Hurd found himself falling back on entrepreneurial skills he gained at Fisher to navigate the lengthy and difficult process of establishing a charitable organization that now bears his son's name, Baby Will (BabyWill.org). Within hours after Will's funeral, Hurd, his wife Michelle and other family members came up with the idea to start a charity that would help local families and support SIDS research. Read More >>

Three Fisher undergraduates were members of the first-place winning team in the 2012 Ohio State University Business Plan Competition, hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship at Fisher. A complete list of winners can be found on the Center for Entrepreneurship website.
Sean Moore, who graduated in the spring with a bachelor's in finance, Joe Zaycosky, an operations and logistics management major, and Alex Gruenhagen, an accounting and operations management major, were members of the first-place team, Core Quantum Technologies. The 52nd annual Pace Setters Awards ceremony, held on May 10 at the Blackwell, celebrated the achievements of students, faculty and alumni. Pace Setters represent the top two percent of Fisher's undergraduate and graduate students, and are selected not only on the basis of their academic performance, but also their ability to demonstrate leadership. Students are nominated, selected and voted upon by faculty and staff. Awards to faculty and alumni honor their contribution to the college. Read More >>
The National Center for the Middle Market (NCMM) today announced that the middle market, a leading indicator of America's future competitiveness, grew at a rate of 8.4% in the past year, but expects future revenue growth will slow according to findings unveiled today in the first Middle Market Indicator (MMI), a look at the health and outlook of middle market companies in the United States. The NCMM is a partnership between The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and GE Capital. Read More >>
