College Ranked Among Best MBA Programs
Fisher College of Business’ MBA program was ranked 21st in U.S.
News & World Report’s 2006 annual ranking of graduate schools,
released April 1. The college ranked seventh among business schools
at public universities and third among Big Ten universities.
In addition, Fisher College was included in a number of specialty
program rankings, which are based on the opinions of business school
deans and academic directors. 2006 Fisher College specialty rankings
include:

Annual Cullman Symposium Scheduled
The twelfth biennial W. Arthur Cullman
Symposium will take place May 26-27 in the Blackwell Hotel. This year,
the symposium focuses on "Competing through Service," which
examines the growing dominance of the services industry and how top-performing
organizations compete through the strategic use of service. Speakers
include Les Wexner, chairman and CEO, Limited Brands; Richard
D. Wood, chairman, Wawa, Inc. and Ann Rhodes, president,
People Ink. Named in honor of one of Fisher College's most distinguished
faculty members, the Cullman Symposium is a forum where some of the
world's best thought leaders and practitioners meet and share ideas.

Leadership Summit This Friday
The
Graduate Women in Business organization is hosting a day-long Women's
Leadership Summit on Friday, April 8. Ilene Lang, president
of Catalyst, will speak at 9 a.m. Students can attend panel discussions
on women in leadership, getting started in their careers, and work-life
balance. Panelists include Barbara Fergus, founder of Midwest Auto
Group; Donna A. James, president of Nationwide Strategic Investments;
Jill Dean, executive vice president of Victorias Secret Stores;
Sandy Harbrecht, president of Paul Werth Associates and Tanny Crane,
president and CEO of Crane Group Co. All sessions will take place

Builders Club Event
On
Monday, April 11, The Center for Entrepreneurship's Business Builders
Club is hosting Joseph and Diane Fiksel for a discussion on "Sustainability
in the Business World." The discussion, which focuses on designing
organizations and products to be environmentally and socially responsible,
will take place at 7:30 p.m. in 220 Schoenbaum Hall. In 2002, the
Fiksels founded a small company called Eco-Nomics LLC that provides
sustainable enterprise consulting services to multi-national corporations

Fisher
5K Scheduled
The
second annual Fisher 5K and One-Mile Fun Walk will take place on Sunday,
April 17. All proceeds benefit Children's Hunger Alliance. The
competitive race begins at 11:15 a.m. on the Fisher College of Business
campus; the Fun Walk begins at 11:20 a.m. A family cookout immediately
follows the race. The cost is $15 for those who register before April
10 and $20 for those who register after April 11. The race is open

his paper titled, "Corporate Financing Decisions When Investors
Take the Path of Least Resistance" as part of the Stephen A.
Buser Colloquium Series in Financial Economics at 10:30 a.m. in 800
Fisher Hall.

Sander Flaum Speaker Series
Tony Raimondo, chairman and CEO of Behlen Manufacturing Company,
will speak on Friday, April 15 at 8:30 a.m. as part of the Sander
Flaum Speaker Series. Raimondo joined the company as general manager
for Wickes Corporation in 1982. He led the efforts to complete a successful
management buy-out in 1984 as Behlen experienced major losses due
to market changes and Wickes emerged from Chapter 11.
