Lisa Williams is the president of Lisa Williams & Associates, a Seattle-based consulting firm devoted to partnering with healthcare organizations in improving their strategic, management and operational services. In the last decade, Lisa and her colleagues have partnered with over 25 clients throughout the US in their pursuit of perfection.
Since 1989 Williams has worked in healthcare, starting as department director at the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, where she developed and operated the first Alzheimer's adult day program in the state. Soon she became administrator of a 478-bed nursing home. She then served as assistant administrator of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she managed day-to-day operations for the 722-bed level 1 medical/surgical and critical care hospitals. Williams then took over hospital administrator duties at Group Health, a two-hospital system in King County, Washington, where she oversaw deficiency-free surveys for both hospitals from The Joint Commission and Washington Department of Health. As a healthcare executive, Lisa continued her learning about the importance of quality and operational excellence. She trained with senseis and mentors in the lean field focusing on how to continuously improve our healthcare environment. She has taught many classes, some include: lean management, 5S, value stream mapping and management, management systems, kaizen activities, facilitation, team building, coaching others, organization and continuous process improvement. Lisa has also taught college courses in management communications, research methods and statistics, and organizational theory and behavior.
She has served on a governor-appointed state board that provides regulatory oversight to nursing home administrators. Lisa also served on the National Association Board of Examiners for long-term care administrators. She has earned a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration and Bachelors degree in Business Administration. She attended the University of Paris, Sorbonne, graduated from the John C. Stennis Institute for Government Executives and holds a Nursing Home Administrator License. Lisa is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and American Society of Quality. Lisa currently resides in Seattle, Washington where she enjoys reading, playing the piano, camping, boating and spending time with her family.
