Biography

Tom is a key contributor to the Lean initiatives in the North American region for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He is currently working on an enterprise transformation of the supply chain for a Commercial tire manufacturing facility based in Topeka, Kansas. He is also the lead for the company’s Global Transformation effort in the Production Control & Logistics arena.

Prior to joining Goodyear in 2009, Tom was Director for Lean and Quality in the Global Logistics operation at the Eastman Kodak Company. He was responsible for driving Lean Logistics transformations throughout the global network for the manufacture and distribution of Film, Digital Products and the Commercial Printing business. He was also the Six Sigma Champion for all Six Sigma projects that were implemented in logistics processes across the company.

Tom developed his Lean thinking and improvement skills while participating in the transformation of the film business at Kodak. He received extensive training from several Consultants from Shingijutsu as well as TWI. He was also mentored by Company Leaders, Managers and Peers who were previously key Toyota practitioners. His Leadership and participation in kaizen events covered most parts of the Company’s world wide facilities. He has also contributed to kaizen events and provided consulting services for other Fortune 500 Companies.

Tom has extensive experience in Production Management, Reliability & Engineering Management, Quality Systems, Process and Product Engineering and Lean Consulting.

Tom holds Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University where he was Student Chapter President of the Society of Automotive Engineers. When he is not on a relentless pursuit of perfection, he is sailing in a Great Lakes regatta or on a back woods or high country adventure.
