Doug Evans

Doug Evans was in the US Air Force for 22 years and worked in the Electronics field and in Military Intelligence before ending his career in Quality.  He was the lead Quality Engineer for a $5-Billion weapon system.   He then entered industry and has held jobs in Corning, Inc. as a Sr. Statistician/Black Belt; GE Medical Systems (GEMS) as a Sr. Statistician/Master Black Belt; Quest Diagnostics as the Director of Lean Six Sigma Training and with George Group as a Sr. Consultant.

Doug’s extensive background in statistics and Design of Experiments allowed him to make significant improvements to Corning’s manufacturing process receiving a Division Award.  He worked with GE Corporate to develop GE’s Black Belt body of knowledge and lead the training effort at GEMS for Black Belt training.   As Training Director at Quest Diagnostics, he implemented Blended Black Belt and DFSS training, designed and developed Introduction to Lean, Lean Supply Chain and Balanced Scorecard training.  While working at George Group, Doug led numerous Kaizen events for the Navy and developed a Blended Learning format for the Navy and George Group.

Doug has lived or worked throughout the United States with his tenure in the Air Force and as a consultant.  He brings a diverse knowledge of DoD, manufacturing, service and healthcare to draw from.

Doug has also taught the “Lean Six Sigma” and “Master Black Belt” courses at Villanova.
