of a business or family. Based on Census 2000 data, it is divided
into four volumes arranged geographically. Each city has three
sections: the Background includes politics, employment, and cultural
offerings. Rankings, the second section, includes topics such
as America's Healthiest Cities, High-Tech markets to watch, Best
cities for Black women and Best Large (Small) Metro Areas to start
and grow a company. The third section, Statistical tables, has
information on such data as the business environment, exports,
population growth, per capita/median/average income, employment
by industry, employment by occupation, average wages, taxes, major
business headquarters, best companies to work for, fast growing
businesses, living environment, cost of living, and major employers.
Each volume contains five Appendices: Metropolitan Statistical

The objective of these directories is to help authors publish
their ideas. There are four areas of specialization: accounting,
economics and finance, management, and marketing. Such essential
information as number of blind reviewers, acceptance rates, type
of research (quantitative or qualitative), and manuscript topics
are covered as well as publishing guidelines. There is a section
entitled "What is a Refereed Article?" Publication guidelines
include manuscript length, copies required, computer submissions,
formats and manuscript style. If any of these do not conform to
the editor's specifications, rejection is very probable. With
so many journal titles available, management covers 540 titles;
it is wise to choose one discipline unless otherwise stated. Reviewers'
comments are essential to understanding and focusing one's research.

or manager is given as well as the number of employees and estimated
sales. Approximately eighty percent contain this information.
Companies appearing in the Yellow pages but not in this directory
were excluded because their existence could not be verified, there
was no street address in the listing, or there was only an "800" number, which indicates they are usually out-of-town or out-of-state
companies. Cities are listed according to their legal name. A
six digit SIC code has been assigned to further specify categories.
Companies with less than ten employees are not listed in the manufacturers
section. The star indicates a first listing.

Netlibrary is the electronic book database containing more than 72,000 titles. It contains some of the Plunkett Industry Almanacs as well as some of the ICON industry reports. It is a division of OCLC Online Computer Library Center. There are a couple of important things you need to know about this database. Only one person can access an e-book at a time. That means one person per title. Many different people can access many different titles. There are no renewals of e-books, so you want to browse instead of checking out a title. If you choose to check out a title you have access for only two hours. However, you can read online for an unlimited length of time, but it will close after 15 minutes of no use.

companies, and Canadian companies. Also contains the Worldscope database,
