records are full text. B&I coverage focuses on a body of literature

includes publications covering management, economics, finance,
accounting, international business, etc. It contains full text
from the top management and marketing journals including Harvard
Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, California Management
Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, and many others. It
also includes many leading journals in the areas of economics,
finance and accounting as well as country economic reports from

The CCH Internet Research Network provides access to Federal Securities
Law Reports, Federal Banking Information and Consumer Credit information.
The securities tab has information on FASB Publications and accounting

capital changes tab. Searching and browsing is available in different
areas such as Capital Changes Report Summary or Corporate Capital
Histories. Histories are provided that give a chronology of events

This resource provides access to information on federal taxes,
state taxes and financial and estate planning. Primary sources
material is provided on federal taxes such as federal tax regulations,
the internal revenue code and IRS publications. The state information
includes access to the State Tax Review, State Tax Reporters and
topical indexes for each of the states and multi-state publications.
The topical indexes provide information on property, sales and

The NBER (National Bureau of Economic Research) is a private,

Factiva (formerly Dow Jones) contains a wealth of information but beware of hidden
pricing. In the Business Newsstand one has access to the full
text same day headlines for the Wall Street Journal, New York
Times, Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times.
The Publications Library provides information from nearly 8,000
sources from 118 countries and 22 languages, many of which are
available full text. One can search a single journal title or
several titles simultaneously. The Web Center searches 2000 web
sites, which the editors have chosen on the basis of content,
speed, navigation and design. The Center indexes sites up to four
times daily. The Custom Clips database allows one to create an
SDI (Selective Dissemination of Information) and create a personal
or group folder, which can be sent to e-mail. There is a Company & Industry database, which provides quick company overviews
and company/industry comparison reports. The Historical Market
Data Center provides 25 years worth of pricing on stocks, bonds,
mutual funds and market indexes. Capital Changes Reporter is also

This database is a large collection of investment research reports
on companies, industries and investment in North America, Europe,
Asia/Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. The reports
are generated by 13 of the top US firms, 11 of the top European
firms, and 18 of the top Wall Street Journal 1998 all stars as
well as 500 investment banks and 190 trade associations. These
reports are full text in their original published formats, complete
with charts, photographs, and graphics. The documents are organized
into three categories: company, industry, and geographic and topical
subjects. Here one can monitor industry trends, track company
financials, or research merger and acquisition activity. They
are downloadable. It is wise to read several reports from different
sources in order to do a thorough analysis. Ten thousand of the

All stocks and mutual fund reports include Data Interpreter--computer-generated text that puts the main data points of a given security in context. Patrons can choose from 470 data points in the Stock Screener and 220 data points in the Fund Screener. Also provided are data definitions on most pages via the Data Definitions link. Its unique Portfolio X-Rays enables users to put their choices in a multi-asset portfolio and then analyze it. There are 200 classes with quizzes at the end in the Investing Classroom. netLibrary. (E-BOOKS)
Netlibrary is the electronic book database containing more than 72,000 titles. It contains some of the Plunkett Industry Almanacs as well as some of the ICON industry reports. It is a division of OCLC Online Computer Library Center. There are a couple of important things you need to know about this database. Only one person can access an e-book at a time. That means one person per title. Many different people can access many different titles. There are no renewals of e-books so you want to browse instead of checking out a title. If you choose to check out a title you have access for only two hours. However, you can read online for an unlimited length of time, but it will close after 15 minutes of no use.
OHIOLINK
OhioLINK provides integrated local and central catalogs for 80
institutions in the state of Ohio, including universities, community/technical
colleges, private colleges and the State Library of Ohio. It offers
user-initiated online borrowing through its statewide central
catalog. It serves over 500,000 faculty, staff, and students with
access to more than 31 million library items. Specific library
collections of the members can be searched. The system also offers
access to over 90 research databases, many of which are citation
indexes. They can be searched by words, author, title of the article,
title of the journal, and company. The full text resources include
online encyclopedias, dictionaries, and literature and journal
articles. Access to the research databases is restricted to OhioLINK
member users (valid patrons at OhioLINK member institutions).
OhioLINKs membership includes 17 public universities, 23 community/technical
colleges, 39 private colleges and the State Library of Ohio.

This eight-volume resource contains political, financial, and
economic risk information on 106 countries. Each study contains
an expert assessment of the power structure, 18 month and five-year
forecasts, history and geography of the country, social conditions,
international relationships, ten-year history fact sheet, and
a two-page summary with key economic forecasts, regional economic
comparisons and a recent chronology. There are graphical comparisons
of the country's economic performance over time and in relation

This is an international database that specializes in tabular data dealing with companies, products, industries, and demographics. It provides current market share and rankings with the same detailed indexing as in Business and Industry. Table data is obtained worldwide from privately-published statistical annuals, trade associations, trade and business publications, international organizations, primary research, non-profit research groups, government agencies, investment research and all the publications covered in B&I. Thomson Research (formerly Disclosure) covers approximately ninety percent of the world's
stock market value and includes records for more than 17,000 active
companies representing over 50 countries. This is a good source for 10 year historical financials. A record covers fundamental
financial data, all filings with the SEC, auditor's report and
opinion, accounting practices, product and geographic segment
data when given, ratios, and foreign business statistics. Also
included are records on some U.S. private companies, UK private
companies, and Canadian companies. Formerly the Worldscope database,
it contains records on approximately 5,000 U.S. companies, and
the rest are from around the world.
Wall Street Journal.
(COMPANIES & INDUSTRIES)
The Journal is the authoritative source for business news
in America. It is published coast to coast and has the largest
daily circulation of any newspaper in the country. This database
goes back to 1986 containing abstracts and full text of most articles.
The Journal is also available through Factiva
and is available in microfilm. Current issues of the newpaper (2-3 months) are in Closed Reserve.
Wall Street Transcript.
(COMPANIES & INDUSTRIES)
The purpose of the Wall Street Transcript is to help investors
make better investment decisions when choosing stocks and sectors.
It interviews Wall Street professionals and corporate leaders,
which helps to bring the views of stock market insiders to the
reader. For over 38 years the question and answer format has allowed
