Export Internship Program

In partnership with the Ohio Development Services Agency, Fisher College of Business Office of Global Business/CIBER is proud to offer the Export Internship Program (EIP), which matches small and medium-sized Ohio companies with undergraduate students from several universities and college across Ohio in a 12-week summer internship.  EIP combines a Spring Semester export-focused course with a paid summer internship focusing on international trade. Students work on customized, export-related projects where they might create a strategic plan for expanding export activities, identify new export markets, or link companies to various export assistance organizations.

The Export Internship Program features a 3 credit hour Spring Semester course taught by experts in the field of international business, where they gain specialized export instruction on topics such as global market analysis, the identification of export partners, international pricing, logistics, and distribution. The Export Internship Class will be taught on Friday mornings during Spring Semester on the Fisher College of Business campus.

Both the Office of Global Business and the Ohio Development Services Agency matches each student in the program with a paid internship at an Ohio business. The summer internships will run from May 11-August 7, 2015 with a one week break from June 29 - July 3. During the internship portion of the program, participants are required to participate in biweekly collaborative meetings with their classmates and will have access to resources provided by the state and federal government, as well as The Ohio State University.

Internships can be in any sector or industry and will focus specifically on international trade efforts. Past companies include Worthington Industries, Fecon, Jeni's Splended Ice Creams, Sutphen Fire Trucks, Davenport Aviation, and Rain Drop Products.
