Fisher Exchange Network

Would you like to meet International Exchange Students who study at Fisher College?

Fisher College of Business Office of Global Business, as part of our mission as a Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), brings exchange students to Columbus from over 30 partner schools for one or more semesters. These students are from prestigious business schools located around the globe.

We are looking for students who want to help these students feel welcome and enjoy their experience here at OSU. You could also expand your network and create long-lasting friendships with peers from all over the world!

Who qualifies for this program?

If you are the kind of person who simply has a desire to meet new people and share what you know about being a student at Fisher and OSU, then you are just the right person for this.

How much time will it require?

At minimum, you should spend about an hour a week with your assigned mentee.  Just share a few hours with an exchange student and you will both see how much you have in common, and learn from what is different about each of you.

What will I be expected to do?

The main purpose of the program is to help our Inbound exchange students get used to life here as well as providing them a contact point and friend on campus. Some typical activities can include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering basic questions about student life
  • Meeting our exchange students at the airport
  • Showing exchange students around the city and campus
  • Taking exchange students to interesting sites such as the Columbus Zoo, or Ohio Statehouse
  • Inviting exchange students to On- and Off-Campus events such as OSU Athletic events, Columbus Clippers games, and Nationwide Arena concerts to name a few
  • Participating in welcome and farewell activities

We just want to make sure our exchange students feel at home and provide them with the best experience possible. The end result of the program is a mutually beneficial relationship where both the mentor and exchange student discover that they are not so different in a world growing smaller all the time.
