Ingrid Werner Finance
Prior to coming to Fisher, Professor Ingrid Werner taught at Stanford business school for a number of years. Originally from Sweden, she has been a visiting scholar at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ and presently serves on the academic advisory board at Morgan Stanley & Co. Professor Werner's investment managment class is very popular among Fisher MBA students, and her European origins bring a unique perspective to global finance and investment management topics.

Teaching Professor Werner's "Trading, Markets and Exchange" elective course always gets high marks from Fisher MBAs because of its rich, in-depth content in investment management, securities trading, and the securities industry.
Dr. Werner previously taught at Stanford, including at the executive level, before joining Fisher, as well as in an exclusive joint program of Harvard, Kellogg, MIT, Stanford, and Wharton. In addition to regularly receiving academic recognition, Dr. Werner also consults with top investment firms Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.
Research
Professor Werner's research is currently focused on such subjects as "Short-Sale Regulations in U.S. Markets" and "Trading in OTCBB (Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board) and Pink Sheet Markets." Her research in international finance and market micro-structure is frequently cited in top academic journals.
One of her papers published by the Journal of International Money and Finance was named as one of the 200 most-cited works in economics. She has served as an associate editor for the Journal of Finance and the Review of Financial Studies and is currently on the editorial boards of the Journal of Empirical Finance, the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, and the Emerging Markets Finance Journal.

Lu Zhang Finance Professor Lu Zhang is a specialist on asset pricing and serves as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Expanding efficient markets hypothesis and new classical macroeconomics, his research elaborates a unified conceptual framework that deepens our understanding of the driving forces behind the cross-sectional variation of expected stock returns. He joined Fisher after previously teaching at the University of Michigan and the University of Rochester.

Teaching
Professor Zhang teaches the "Securities Markets and Investments" elective course in the MBA program. PThe course provides students with the fundamental principles of investing and equips them with the necessary tools to make sound investment decisions.
Research In his research, Zhang strives to develop new cost-of-capital measures that are theoretically motivated, empirically validated, and practically useful. He has published widely in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Political Economy and Review of Financial Studies. He also serves as associate editor of Review of Financial Studies, one of the three leading academic journals in finance.
