The Center for Real Estate Education and Research offers the four
real estate sales courses which are required to become licensed
real estate agents in Ohio.
Required Courses and Descriptions
- BF670 Real Estate and Urban Land Economics UG4 (Principles
and Practices of Real Estate)
Introduction to urban land economics and real estate markets;
topics include land use, property taxation, income taxation, and
property rights.
Prerequisites: Econ 200 and 201, or equivalent or permission

- BF773 Real Estate Valuation UG4 (Appraisal)*
Professional valuation as a guide to business decisions; valuation
theory and procedures; factors influencing real estate values,
and the selection and analysis of data.
Prerequisites: Econ 200 or equivalent or permission of

- BF774 Income Property Valuation UG4 (Appraisal)
The value-creating attributes of investment properties; methodologies
of income-property valuation and investment analysis.
Prerequisites: Econ 200 or equivalent or permission of

- BF775 Real Estate Law UG4
Legal aspects of real estate transactions and documents (deeds,
mortgages, and leases) and selected elements of the law of real
estate brokerage.
Prerequisites: BF 510 or equivalent or permission of instructor.
