Goals and Strategies
The Fisher College of Business Real Estate Club is open to Ohio
State University undergraduate and graduate students. The Real Estate
Club provides students exposure to the various real estate career
areas through presentations by real estate professionals. Topics
cover commercial and residential development, appraisal, REITs,
financing, and real estate brokerage. As a result of networking
with companies, students have received employment opportunities.
Field trips to major real estate developments also have been organized
from time to time.
The Real Estate Club also puts together a resume book with resumes
of students looking for full-time and part-time employment. Resume
books are mailed to the companies in which students have expressed
a desire to work.
Through interaction in the Real Estate Club, students, especially
club officers, develop their leadership and professional abilities
and gain a better idea of the opportunities in real estate.
The Center for Real Estate Education and Research provides support
for the Real Estate Club. Under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Sanders,
Center co-director, the Real Estate Club provides students with
insights into the real estate business. Among recent speakers were:
Mr. Terry Foegler, President of Campus Partners; Mr. Don M. Casto,
III, Don M. Casto Organization; Mr. Frank Kass, Chairman, Continental
Real Estate; and Mr. Jeff Palmquist, Duke-Weeks Realty Corporation.
