"Professor Kandel is the incumbent of The Maurice and Gertrude Deutch Chair for Research in Finance and Accounting. He has been an outside director of the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange since 1996 (and also in 1992-3). He received the 1996 Smith Breeden Prize, first prize paper of The Journal of Finance, the Batterymarch fellowship in 1988, and the Allon fellowship in 1988-9. "
