4. Track Record of Success
Ohio State PhD graduates are employed
by top universities across the country and throughout the world. Even
in tough job markets, our students perform well. Statistics in recent
years bear testament to this success.
Beyond the first placement, many Ohio
State graduates have gone on to become successful scholars. Based on
articles published in the top three finance journals, a recent study by
Karolyi and Silvestrini (2005) ranks graduates from OSU
8th among all US finance PhD programs. This
further testifies to quality of our finance doctoral program. We
believe that we do not merely produce graduates who are able to do
well in the job market, but who are also trained to produce a
continuing stream of scholarship that contributes significantly to the
field.
