Accelerated CFP® Certification Education Program
Developed jointly with Jeffrey Rattiner, CFP®, CPA, RFC, of JR Financial Group, Inc., this “fast-track” program combines structured self-study with intensive instructor-led classroom review to provide a comprehensive eight-month financial planning education designed to meet the education requirements to take the CFP® Certification Exam.
During the program, you will take six courses covering all the essential financial planning topics:
- Financial Planning Process and Insurance
- Investment Planning
- Income Tax Planning
- Employee Benefit and Retirement Planning
- Estate Planning
- Financial Plan Development Capstone Course
Each course provides a minimum of six weeks of structured self-study, followed by an intensive in-class review days at The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business. During these instructor-led sessions, you will examine course topics in-depth, through case studies and application problems, to develop your understanding of financial planning tools and techniques. Tests with questions comparable to those on the CFP® Exam are used in each course to develop your test-taking skills.
When you successfully complete these six courses, you will take the Comprehensive Review Course, also offered with the same delivery format (six weeks of self-study followed by five days of intensive classroom instruction). The accelerated program employs review course materials developed by Keir Educational Resources, Inc., a major publisher in financial planning education.
When you finish the review course, you will be ready to take the CFP® Certification Exam – just nine months from the start of your first course! Among students who have completed programs based on Rattiner’s Financial Planning Fast-Track®, the pass rate on the CFP® Certification Exam for last year's first time takers was 93%.
The Accelerated CFP® Certification Education Program at The Ohio State University is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.
